Who's the BOSS?

NO BLOG entry yesterday, as it was a fun filled family day, with my mother cooking lunch for 11 of us, what a star! I have to say I think Sunday lunch is my favourite meal of the week. Piles of roast meat and even higher piles of Yorkshire Puds - what's your favourite meal and why?

Today (Monday) I began the laborious prices of filling out the online application for my NHS bursary. It seemed to take ages to get to the point where I've left it, I couldn't quite finish it for the sake of my sanity. I'll go back to it tomorrow but I'm going to have to give details of my fiancee's earnings which is likely to result in me getting very little. Despite the fact that we don't have any savings and pretty much live hand to mouth. Don't you just love the government, on the one hand they try to help by paying tuition fees, but on the other hand everything else is so expensive that it is very difficult to make the commitment to further study when you have the responsibilities of a 'normal life'. I'm sure www. Get through it, as well as part for a wedding, but there'll be many who do and fall by the wayside, having to give up on their dreams.

Birthday Delights

FIANCEE'S birthday today so we spent it trying to ignore all the work that needs to be done around the house and took the dog for a long walk at the local park. It was the first bit of Sun we've seen in a while, so much so that I'm sure there'll be quite a few sunburnt people about tomorrow. We've been out for Tapas this evening with a few of her friends, Mam and brother. I think a good time was had by all. There were some really drunken people in the village on our return, it's a strange place, where the 16 year olds fall in the gutters alongside the 60 year olds.

Please Sir, can I have some money?

TODAY I was hoping to have received my invite to begin my bursary application - but no, it hasn't arrived! I'm not sure what that means but I hope that I'll receive my funding in time before the uni starts to ask questions about fees as I certainly can't afford to pay those myself.

In other news today, I've been to the Metrocentre shopping with my fiancee. And for a change I only bought one thing for myself, a new food flask. The excitement eh? Just need some decent weather to get out in to the middle of nowhere to use it.

I'm not a criminal!

I RECEIVED my CRB clearance in the post today, so I'm officially OK to work with the public. This is the third time I've had to get clearance (twice in my last job) and I have to say this was the least painful and least tedious - no big questionnaire to complete, just supplied my basic details. Stace, as I rarely went near the public in my last job, but I did potentially have access to your inner most secrets. Don't worry, they are safe with me ;-)

So...why a blog?

A BLOG isn't official until it has been started with a 'hello this blog is intended to' post, and this one will be no different.
Initially I thought about sharing my experiences with the world as I become a university student for the second time, however, I think I will try to focus on that aspect but throw in a few of the mundane things I get up to as I trundle through life.

Feel free to suggest how I can improve things and make sure you join in, I'm sure you're much more interesting than I am.
